Price swaps rugby for the PDC Tour
Before darts paid the bills, Price played rugby union and rugby league. In 2014 he earned a Tour Card at PDC Q-School.
He also threw darts for Markham Welfare and later Aberbargoed. Barrie Bates told him to have a go at PDC Q-School.
Price went in January 2014 and won a Tour Card on the second day. He did not spend years creeping towards the television stages. He got there quickly.
Within a few seasons he was reaching televised major finals.

He defended the Grand Slam in 2019, won the World Grand Prix in 2020 and took the Grand Slam for a third time in 2021. With Jonny Clayton, he also won two World Cups for Wales.

Price met Gary Anderson again in the 2021 World Championship final. This time the winner would lift the Sid Waddell Trophy.
Price went 5-1 ahead. In the sixth set, he averaged 136.64 and came close to a nine-darter.
Then his arm tightened. He missed match darts and gave Anderson another sniff.
Price finally hit the winning double and took the match 7-3. Seven years after Q-School, he was World Champion and world number one.
It was not tidy at the end. It was still enough to put a Welsh name on the PDC world title for the first time.

Price and Jonny Clayton do not look like the same player wearing different shirts.
Price fires himself up and lets everybody know when a dart matters. Clayton usually turns round, walks back and gets ready for the next visit.

In April 2026, Price won a tenth European Tour title in Sindelfingen.

Use the rating as a clue, not a promise: the dart only feels aggressive where your fingers meet the stronger cuts.
