Target Player Darts 2026: 11 Professional Setups Compared
A Target player dart can look tempting, but the player’s name is not a shortcut to a better throw. The useful questions are simpler: does the weight suit you, can you release the grip cleanly, and do systems such as Swiss Point or K-Flex offer something you will actually use?
This comparison covers 11 Target player setups. It shows what each player uses and which aspects of the dart shape and setup may be relevant to your own throw.

Which setup characteristics suit your throw?
Darts is as much about confidence and decision-making as it is about technique, but the setup still needs to feel comfortable in your hand. Use the categories below as a starting point:
How to use this Target player darts comparison
Finding the right dart is a process. In our Target Darts Pro Check, one thing stands out pretty clearly: several of the professional players covered here use one or both of two common Target systems: Swiss Points and K-Flex. But what does that actually mean for you as a home player or a club player looking to improve?
Choosing the right weight
Look at the table above: the range goes from Stephen Bunting’s feather-light 12 grams all the way up to Phil Taylor’s chunky 26 grams. Patty’s golden rule: if you are a beginner, start around 23g to 24g (like Nathan Aspinall or Chris Dobey). These weights tend to forgive throwing mistakes more than extremely light darts. A 12g dart like Bunting’s reacts to the tiniest twitch in your finger — that is surgical work and takes serious practice.
Grip level: how much “glue” do you need on your fingers?
One important part of this Target Darts Pro Check is the grip. Luke Littler uses the Pixel Grip, which can feel almost like Velcro on your fingers. That is great if you have dry hands. If your hands get a bit sweaty during play, a sandblasted grip (like Dimitri Van den Bergh) or a classic ring grip (like Gabriel Clemens) may suit you better. Too much grip can make the dart “stick” on release and pull the dart off line.
Why Swiss Point and K-Flex matter
Target has pushed removable points and integrated flight-and-shaft systems hard in recent years. Swiss Point lets you replace compatible points quickly, which can be useful when testing lengths or dealing with a damaged point.
K-Flex combines the flight and shaft in one unit, so there is no separate flight to work loose during play. It can also give a repeatable setup, though the preferred flight angle is still personal. When comparing these darts, focus on the technical details rather than the player’s name.
